Channel constitution

  • All private messages of current #kernow members stay private, as does channel conversation.
  • You may ban channel members but only for reasons which are justifable by the majority of the channel (over 50%).
  • Arc/Aera (or any other alias he uses which will be added at the relevent time), cryax/marc, Mummble_Man, oPless, bunny (crash?), Neo_ad, blizeh, Dr_Zeuss (readded 2002-08-02) are banned. (updated 2005-12-06: finally removed souleh, added cryax' alias marc, removed padlock)
  • TheAnimus is banned (added 2002-09-24).
  • Everything said in #kernow is confidential.
  • No revenge scripts.
  • No 'fun' game clients (spin the bottle, dice, blonde jokes, etc).
  • Sending unauthorised virii/trojans is forbidden.
  • Bots need to be authorised.
  • Only abvo flags are allowed, excluding +n for the primary authorised channel keeping bot.
  • Away/MP3 scripts are lame (see http://sackheads.org/~bnaylor/spew/away_msgs.html) and will result in a kick, then if no action is taken to remove, a ban.
  • No flooding/spamming in excess.
  • Constitution may be changed at any time by a vote, however changes to the underlying voting system must win with a 2/3 majority vote - modified 2002-04-28
  • Users in #penks, #raclan and #mortifera (added 2002-06-19), #dalenet (added 2002-10-10) and #rvb (added 2003-12-01) may not join #kernow.
  • Idiots join-parting within 1 minute will recieve a lifetime ban - added 2002-06-19
  • Channel modes +cCnt are enforced on #kernow by the primary authorised channel keeping bot.
  • Phat-Ctrl's safron buns are prohibited inside DT, failure to comply will result in a daily ban for each day in which buns are discovered - removed 2002-12-25.
  • All channels members are allowed to carry out actions that might be viewed controversial, as long as they do not break the constitution and that they immediately set up a vote afterwards. (added 2002-09-09)
  • Alterations to the constitution must be timestampted (ISO8601 format) - added 2002-04-28
  • Constitutional votes must be non anonymous - added 2002-04-28
  • Inactive (defined as being on IRC but not in the channel for 15 days) will have their accounts, can be reenabled via a policy vote - modified 2003-11-27.
  • Retroactive votes are not legal - added 2003-07-13.
  • New members may be voted upon to have the right to vote (become a policy member) after one year of membership - added 2003-07-19 - modified 2003-07-22.
  • Only members that have been more than one year on the day of addition of this point may vote on policy changes (defined at creation as banning members and changing the constitution) - added 2003-07-22.

The constitution was created and voted apon by the residing channel members on Jan 14th 2002.
All other additions/modifications/deletions have been voted upon by channel members active at the time.
